about

Written for FAWM 2016

I originally wrote this song with a female singer in mind. Unfortunately, first she had the flu, then she had a personal tragedy. So, I ended up doing the vocals.

This is one of the rare songs that I started with the bass riff and then added the guitars. This is also the only song on this album that has a guitar solo in it.

For a while, it felt like it was missing something. The I put my finger on it when I doubled the speed of the drums in the chorus.

lyrics

(c) 2016 Savage Vibes

The muscle memory
keeping me from drowning
In These thoughts
that the end is near
Watching the world
circling the drain
While I’m keeping my head above the water
keeping my head above the water

There’s no where to run
This dystopia is following me
But there has to be a sun
at the end of this misery

I watch you all
keep digging your holes
I watch you all
blame the other ones
Try to keep your heads above the water

There’s no where to run
This dystopia is following me
But there has to be a sun
at the end of this misery

I’m just trying to find the way out
I’m just trying to find the way out
But they say
That the way out is through

There’s no where to run
This dystopia is following me
But there has to be a sun
at the end of this misery
